Three plants that relieve stress and anxiety



Truthfully, I didn’t know that certain smells could play an important role in relieving anxiety and stress. But after looking into it, I can’t believe I didn’t realize this sooner. I mean c’mon, aromatherapy is built on it. 


Breathing in essential oils is more potent than flowers because of the concentration level, but this doesn’t mean you miss out on the benefits if all you have is your garden. The top three scents used to relieve stress and anxiety are:

  1. Lavender - lavender has a calming scent and its hues also work as a visual relaxer. This plant is often used to help soothe anxiety and depression, 

  2. Chamomile - I’m sure you already knew that drinking chamomile tea relaxes you… but it can also reduce inflammation and has anti-anxiety properties, and 

  3. Peppermint - it is good for relaxing your muscles, lowering frustration and boosting productivity, another plus - it's super easy to grow! 

By planting these three, you’ll have a natural remedy at home for stress and anxiety. The scent alone will help! If you want to go the extra mile, you could add them to your bath or make your own DIY herbal tea… multi purpose plants are the best!
