Ways to live cleaner through gardening!

Gardens have curb appeal for people AND animals! Whether it’s flowers or a vegetable garden, when you plant you’re helping the environment in more ways than one.

By planting a garden you'll be actively shrinking your carbon footprint while making a small ecosystem for other living creatures!

No matter the size of garden you plant, it will act as a small interdependent ecosystem. It creates small habitats for birds, insects and small animals like bunnies. Each one of these creatures plays a very important role in our environment which is why it’s so important to help them out!

I'm sure you also hear it all the time, “you need to reduce your carbon footprint,” but how? A garden of course! Small or large, you’ll be shrinking your footprint the second you start your garden.

Whether you plant trees and flowers or vegetables and herbs, you’re shrinking your footprint.

By planting trees and flowers, you're taking carbon out of the air and putting it back into the soil. Now I know what you’re going to say, why would carbon in our soil be a good thing? Carbon actually helps soil structure, in fact it is the main component for getting healthy soil.

If you decide to plant a vegetable and herb garden you’re reducing your footprint by cutting the distance your food has to travel to get to your plate. For every pound of food you grow you eliminate two pounds of CO2, how great is that?

It’s the little things that add up, who’s ready to make a difference?
